Thermal Progression Course

Service Description

Our Thermal Progression Course IS designed to provide newly licensed pilots with a sense of confidence and direction in their thermal flying. You will be flying tandem with an experienced thermal instructor, communicating ear-to-ear, and combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. We ensure pilots gain a solid foundation in meteorology, execution, and safety in thermal flying. Join our Thermal Progression course to learn how to: -Interpret low and high level weather forecasts -Map tricky thermals -Apply paragliding-specific risk-reduction techniques (3x3). Flying above one of Central Switzerland's premiere thermal flight sites, you will learn to interpret the thermal forecast and apply thermal mapping theory to core tricky thermals and maximize your climbs. You will fly tandem with one of our experienced instructors, communicating and working as a team to climb to the top of the stack. Our tandem glider is equipped with brake extensions so that you co-pilot with your instructor. This helps you develop a feel for where your hands need to be to map your climbs and maximize your altitude. Our Thermal Progression Course includes a theory and meteorology session that will be provided the same day. Following an instructional flight (minimum 45 minutes to 1 hour) and a safe landing, you will debrief the day with your instructor, focusing on execution and safety.
