Service Description
Our Fundamentals of XC Course is designed to bring newly licensed pilots to the next level in their paragliding journey. You will be flying tandem with an experienced XC instructor, communicating ear-to-ear and combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. We ensure pilots gain a solid foundation in planning, meteorology, execution, and safety. Join our Fundamentals of XC course to learn how to: -Strategically plan your cross country flights -Interpret low- and high-level weather forecasts -Manage your flight instrument(s) -Map tricky thermals -Pick and maximize glide lines -Fly and execute XC plans -Apply paragliding-specific risk-reduction techniques (3x3 and Strategic Mindset). Flying along one of Switzerland's many premier XC arenas, you will learn to spot thermal triggers, core tricky thermals, adjust your speed-to-fly, and maximize your glides to close an XC route. You will fly tandem with one of our experienced instructors, communicating and working as a team to close your route together. Our tandem glider is equipped with brake extensions so that you co-pilot with your instructor. This helps you develop a feel for where your hands need to be to map your climbs and maximize your glides. Our Fundamentals of XC Course includes a theory session (2 hours) that will be delivered during an evening prior to your XC flight. You will then plan a flight with your instructor and execute it together in the air. Following an XC flight (minimum 1.5 hours) and learning to chose a safe XC landing, you will debrief the day with your instructor, focusing on execution and safety. Sign up now to achieve your paragliding goals with confidence!
